I bought a Jordan Clean Smile Plus toothbrush last autumn instead of the brand I had used for many years, as yours seemed to have the features I wanted.
Unfortunately, it suddenly stopped (as if the battery was dead) now and then, even though the battery wasn’t empty. I got a new one. Same problem.
I can even fully charge it, and it stops during the first brushing after charging.
This has happened several times. What is the reason?
In many cases, we have received similar descriptions of faults, and they have been due to the toothbrush being too dirty and having too much dried toothpaste. If there is toothpaste or similar in the head, it can prevent the drive from running properly. Unfortunately, we have received many incorrect complaints, as we believe many of the allegedly defective units are not actually defective. Please perform the following troubleshooting:
- Remove the old brush head.
- Clean the toothbrush from dried toothpaste and dirt.
- Put it in the charger (still without the head) and charge for 20 minutes.
- Does the light come on?
- If it lights up, try starting it without the brush head.
- If it starts, then try with a completely new brush head.
We have also seen that the toothbrush stops when brushing with too much pressure.
Could it be that you brush with heavy pressure? This is a safety mechanism to prevent the motor from overheating and being damaged.
By putting it back in the charger, it resets, and then it starts again. But every time it shuts off due to too much pressure, it cannot start again until it has been “reset” in the charger.
So, one might think the battery has died ? It does not need to stay on the charger for several hours when this happens; it just needs to be reset.
Could this be what you are experiencing?
As soon as a dirty toothbrush head has been attached, it won’t start. You need to put it on the charger for 30 seconds, and then it starts again immediately, and the battery lasts. What could be the reason for this?
This is a safety mechanism to prevent the motor from overheating and being damaged. By placing it back in the charger, it resets.
The toothbrush does not start when I press the button even though it is charged?
Does it work if you remove the brush head?
If it does, the reason may be a dirty brush head. If there is toothpaste or similar in the head, this can prevent the drive from running properly.
So try with a new brush head, without a brush head, or clean the current brush head to see if that solves the problem.
